Reset Canon MF Printer ‘Toner not set’ warning

Had this annoying message on the printers screen and even though I had a new toner cartridge it would go, found this solution online and it seemed to work:
1) Unplug printer
2) remove paper
3) remove toner cartridge
4)leave for a while 30s minimum
5) plug in turn on and put the paper and toner cartridge back in…
Reset HP Laserjet Imaging Drum light

The HP Laser jet printers have an imaging drum light that comes on after a certain number of pages. This doesn’t mean the imaging drum has anything wrong with it – just the ‘technical’ number of pages – I have been using mine for months after the light came on and I reset it with out any decernable issue with the printing.. Credit goes to whoever first discovered you could do this – there are a number of posts out there. Some people say they can’t get it to reset – and I have to say it took me a number of times before it actually reset – probably getting the right timing/combination of pressing the buttons!
To reset the Q3964A imaging drum on the Laserjet 2550 2550L 2550Ln printers.
This procedure worked for me…
-Standard disclaimer: use at your own risk. You are responsible for the consequences, blah, blah..
1) Ensure that all printer cartridges and the drum are installed, you don’t need to take anything out of the machine. Make sure the printer is off.
2) Press the green go button on the front of the printer and hold down.
3) Press the power button on the side of the machine on, whilst holding down the green button. – The 3 lights above the green go button will go on and then off, this takes approx. 10 seconds… this is the printer initialising…
4) When all three of the lights go off release the green button
5) Immediately press and hold the Red Cancel button and the Cartridge selection button then release once printer intitializing is completed (it will just keep rotating through the toner cartridge lights)
The light should reset – but it did take a number of tries for me to get the thing to reset!!
